Dr. Rogers, Managing Director and owner of Pacific BioDevelopment LLC, is a Board Certified Toxicologist and entrepreneur with extensive experience in preclinical drug development. He has been involved with many start-up biotechnology companies and has experience in the design and implementation of numerous preclinical development plans that have culminated in well over 100 INDs and over 20 NDAs. He is also co-founder of Paramag Biosciences, a start-up researching small molecules used for treating neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Rogers received his Ph.D. in toxicology from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and MBA from the University of California-Davis.
Dr. Reynoso, Scientific Director, is an entrepreneur and trained immunologist with 10 years of drug development experience at Genentech, Syntex and Arris Pharmaceuticals. She has been involved in several startups including Paramag Biosciences, where she is a co-founder and the Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Reynoso received her Ph.D. in immunology and MBA from the University of California-Davis.
Dr. Voss , CD and EPR expert, is a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine in the Medical School at UC Davis and Chair of the UC Davis Graduate Program of Biophysics. He is a renowned expert in using biophysical methods to study the structural basis for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson's Diseases. In addition, Dr. Voss has over 20 years of experience using EPR spectroscopy to study the of biochemistry radicals and spin labels. His research at the University of California, Davis has been related to the study of protein biophysics and to oxidative stress and the modulation of pathogenic protein and peptide conformations.
Dr. Bhatnagar is an associate professor in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at UC Davis. She is interested in (i) understanding epigenetic regulation of mammalian gene expression, (ii) investigating how these mechanisms are deployed during development, and (iii) identifying critical steps that, when altered, disrupt normal function. Dr. Bhatnagar has made important discoveries that have revealed novel strategies to treat cancer and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr. Hodzic graduated from the Veterinary school at University of Sarajevo, and the successes he achieved during graduate studies significantly aroused the zeal for taking up research as a lifelong pursuit. Dr. Hodzic obtained a master’s degree and a Ph.D. degree that laid a foundation in Microbiology and molecular biology, in which his academic interests and creativity were allowed to fully develop and come into initial fruition. In 1992 his career was abruptly stopped for two years as a result of the war in his home country of Bosnia and Herzegovina. After resettlement to the U.S., Dr. Hodzic got a position at Yale as a postdoctoral fellow. In 1997 he got a position at the Center for Comparative Medicine, at UC Davis. During his career he collaborated with other researchers and produced numerous peer-reviewed publications from each project. As a result of these previous experiences, he is aware of the importance of frequent communication among project members and of constructing a realistic research plan, timeline, and budget. In summary, well grounded in academics, in research, and in experimental skills, Dr. Hodzic have demonstrated evidence of accomplishment, productivity, independence, collaboration, expertise and scientific abilities in the area of Microbiology and molecular biology.
